Respiratory and Heartbeat Monitoring System based on Thermistor using GSM Technology

G Narmadha

Abstract

The issues and parameters connected with health are of extreme substance to man and are essential to his life and for effective mind. So, an improved system capable of tracking and capturing changes in health parameters regardless of time and location has to be developed. This project introduces a system that is able to monitor the heartbeat and respiration remotely in real time. This project aims at the design and implementation of a low-cost flexible heartbeat and respiration rate monitor alert system using GSM technology. It is designed to display the patient's heartbeat and breath rate on an LCD, then alert an alarm and send an SMS to the medical expert's or health personnel’s mobile phone if and only if the heartbeat and breath rate threshold value is exceeded to a maximum. This scheme therefore proposes a constant, real-time, secure and precise surveillance of the health of the patient. Its diagnosis the patient’s health and provide preventive treatment for cardiovascular disease.
