Importance of Shear Wall in High Rise Building

Abstract


Devastations occurs due to earthquakes as it causes large lateral forces in buildings. There is need to develop various structural elements which resists these large lateral forces due to seismic load. Shear wall is one of the most Important Structural component in High rise building so we need to study the structural response and their various systems. Shear wall resist the Seismic load during earthquake and provide strength. In present Study we effect of shear wall has been done which decides vulnerability of building. In this study Ground+8 Storey was considered. The various parameter studied are horizontal displacement, base shear, Storey drift ratio, bending moment and shear force. For Modelling FEM based ETABS 2015 software are used. We did analysis by equivalent static method and comparison of results have been done.
