Restoration and Sustainability of Petroleum-contaminated Sites in the Human Environment

Chrysanthus Chukwuma Sr

Abstract

Anthropogenic activities and natural occurrences as well as other actions connected with the petroleum industry have contributed expansively to the contamination of numerous areas of human habitat. There are extant remediation methodologies which are effective and efficient for the clean up of contaminated shorelines and other petroleum-contaminated sites involving inter alia agricultural activities. There also exist salient variations in the techniques to expunge contaminants regarding spatiotemporal and pecuniary costs or considerations due to the gross environmental hazards associated with health, environment and development in the petroleum industry.
